What is Restylane?

Restylane is a material that is made from hyaluronic acid, which occurs in all living creatures and is a natural part of the skin.
Restylane works against wrinkles by adding volume to the tissue. It is found and exist in all humans; therefore there is no risk of an allergic reaction.Restylane has FDA approval for plumping out wrinkles around the nose and mouth area.

Is Restylane used for scar treatment?

Restylane has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid than some other products derived from that acid; it is effective in treating scars, and in lip augmentation.

What can I expect during the procedure?

  • A week before your scheduled treatment you should stop using aspirin or Vitamin E as they increase bruising.
  • A very fine needle is used, however, for your comfort. If you would like you may request the Doctor administer a light local anesthetic.

What are my expected results?

You see your results almost immediately.

What can I expect after the treatment?

You may have a little swelling or redness but that should disappear in two-to-three days. You will see a fresh plumpness in the area which was treated, giving you a new youthful appearance.

How long does it last?

Results last from six months to a year.
